Implementation bleeding or something else

I'm currently breastfeeding my almost 15 month old and had my first period 6 months ago followed by a hiatus of no period until last month. I didn't start my period again this month and am currently 12 days late according to calculations. On Monday I wiped and had blood in my cervical mucas which I thought was going to be the start of my period. The next day nothing happened except a little spotting when I wiped. Today is Friday and no sign of Aunt Flow except I have been super emotional and have cried about everything today. Should I test or are my hormones just out wack from breastfeeding?
