High Fever and cold extremeties

Kristen

Hi all!

My 18 month old has has a high fever for about two days now. At first I thought it was teething until it stayed at 102-103. We have given her infant Tylenol and have called the nurse hotline. Where I’m concerned is, I’ve noticed her hands and feet are extremely cold and her legs slightly purple as if she was freezing though her temp is so high. Thanks to Dr. google, I fear it is possible meningitis. The nurse hotline said to just keep her hydrated, rested, and to keep an eye on it. I didn’t mention the cold hands and feet because I didn’t really notice it until after speaking with them. With covid going on, I want to be cautious about taking her into any ER for her safety and mine since I’m 24 weeks pregnant. Has anyone dealt with this? Should I just suck it up and take her to the local children’s hospital to be sure? Any advice would be appreciated!

UPDATE:

Thank you to those that responded! I was able to do a virtual appointment with our pediatric hospital! She still has a super high temp, but they aren’t worried about it. If it persists for a couple more days they said to bring her in!
