Period, no period, not pregnant ebf?

I went off birth control about 2 months ago, got a 5 day period, and had sex 2x 2 saturdays ago. I was supposed to start my period this last Tuesday, so i am approaching a week late, but took a test and it was negative. I am still ebf but he gets other meals now too. Is it possible to have one period than horomones change and i not have one for an extended time?

The 'period' you had right after stopping birth control may have been a withdrawal bleed and not actually your period. It may take a while for your hormones to re-adjust, especially as you are still ebf. My little one is almost 12 months and I'm still breastfeeding and my period still hasn't returned yet. 
If you're concerned you could ask your doctor to check your hormone levels, but this sounds totally normal. 😊
