When to buy carseat

Question

I am due first week of December. I wonder when is the best time to buy a car seat? I was hoping to take advantage of black friday deals but worried that may be too late. Thoughts?

Right now with the carseat trade in event at target!   Find someone who is throwing away an old expired carseat and bring it to target for a discount

I bought a car seat when I was 16 weeks 🙊 but that’s the only thing I got, I don’t even have any clothes. It made me feel closer to a baby, and also it was a deal, and since I knew I would buy online, I wanted to make sure I like it and can return and look for something else.

My thought is, someone could always bring it to the hospital for you if you end up going into labor early if you are trying to wait for Black Friday 🤷‍♀️ maybe just have a plan in place if that happens, or just see if you can find a deal before then. 
Definitely not something you have to rush, but it’s good to be prepared!

I’m due dec 10. We thought about waiting for Black Friday deals but will probably get one in October at our shower. I’m not even sure how much of a discount they give on baby items like that, but figure we’ll just buy/get one rather than chance saving 20 bucks, if that.

What kind of car seat are you looking to get? Do you have a specific one In mind? Black Friday seems to have the same ones on sale for Black Friday every year so I would check into old ads and see if the one you want will even be on sale, the brand I like to get never really does these sales, so I would check that first! Otherwise, also watch for sales in general, Black Friday has good ones but not always better than sales that will occur every couple months. If located in US keep an eye on Target, they offer car seat sales pretty often and they compare to Black Friday deals!

This time around we will be getting one at 24 weeks since i went into premature labor at only 31 weeks. You never know

That was one of the first thing I bought this pregnancy. With my first I was gifted one at my baby shower. And my 2nd pregnancy i was about half way through when I bought one. I don’t believe there’s a set time. Just don’t wait til the last minute
