Speech Delay

“Baby” boy can maybe say five words, if that.. I’ve asked his pediatrician about delayed speech. She thinks it’s very normal as “boys tend to take longer than girls”. I just can’t stop worrying about it. We talk to him all day. He can communicate in various other ways and clearly understands what we say to him. He even nods “no’s” and “yes’”, but will not speak. I have even done a thorough check for lip and tongue ties.. lol.. Is it the 1st time mom in me that is worrying even though the pediatrician isn’t? Anyone else going through this?
