When my SO gets home he thinks I’m too soft with our toddler.

But he doesn’t see the constant battles that happen all day everyday. 
He sees that she eats food off my plate while we sit together and considers it bad manners, whereas I’m just happy she’s eating without trying to run around and pet the dogs at the same time. 
By the end of the day she has driven me into the ground. 
I am 31 weeks pregnant, my daughter is 2 years old and an infinite source of energy. 
I threw my back out last week and am still recovering and when he got home and said I was letting her walk all over me and just giving in to her, it made me want to cry. 
He is an amazing partner, home for every bed time, both career and family focused. He cares a lot and wants to know every detail about our lives while he is away so he can feel involved. 
But omg, she’s 2. I’m tired. We just stopped using a high chair. It’s going to be a process. :( 
Does anyone else have this problem? 
And any tips on how to teach good table manners and sitting down to eat to a toddler?

Psh sometimes you just have to do what you need to do to survive lol we’ve had lunch and dinner on the couch many times. Sometimes it’s not worth the battle to sit at the table and be proper.

Personally I think he in the wrong. She two not ten.  She going to eat off your plate. My 3 year eats off our plates. It doesn’t mean you are being soft or anything like that.  You have a 2 year old.  They are no stop and want whatever mommy and daddy has.  Just part of having a toddler. ￼￼

Pregnancy with a toddler is all about survival. I’m daughter did a lot that she normally wouldn’t get away with (ex. a lot of screen time) but i was very sick until week 18 and by week 20 I was dealing with horrible SPD so I wasn’t moving much. My baby is 5 weeks and we are back on track:).

Omg... This. Is. My. Life. My hubby says the same thing to me about our 2.5yo. But I tell him, I pick my battles..lol & her getting something off my plate isn't one I wanna fight right now. When she gets something from my plate I just tell her to ask for more on her own plate & give it to her. She does ask sometimes now but typically it's while she's already on my plate..lol It takes time. She will get it & I'm not a push over. Just don't fight with her over little things. Of course I'd never give in & let her do something dangerous or unruly. Plus I'm 15wks pregnant & she definitely out does me in the energy department. 🙄🤷‍♀️ I feel u mama! My SO thinks the same thing about me and my 3 years old. I was raised getting my ass whooped and resent my mother for it. I am also a teacher and know the affects of yelling and hitting your child. You have to talk to them and sometimes yes giving in just helped when you are pregnant and running around after a toddler all day. They don’t understand. Just keep doing what you have to do. That’s what I’m doing I block him out. He’s not home with her all day dealing with what I’m dealing with

So I have a very loving supportive spouse who sits w my 27 month old n let's him eat from his plate.I feel it s necessary for development..I'm also pregnant 25 n a half weeks w my 4 th..measuring about 28 weeks..u have to do what u have to do.The problem I see w your situation is your ' partner 'isnt taking half the workload.Paying Bill's doesnt mean shit of you domt spend time w your child.Not to be harsh but I raised my older 2 by myslef..using daycares n babysitters.At daycare they usually have 2 yr old sit in a chair they can get right out of.When the kids see bigger kids eating n staying I'm their seat they eventually do it.In all seriousness I d talk to someone that is certified in therapy for you n call an early education place to see if there are any tips but speaking as a mom of 3 who has lost 3 babies stand your ground w this man..you have to or ome day he ll speak some kind of way u dont like to your toddler  n  you ll be in tears

We started strapping him to his high chair again so he can’t escape! His daycare lets him sit freely but we tried that at home and nope! Not worth it, I need him trapped 😄 still he tries to put his feet on the table and somehow reaches. Anyway, the high chair is staying for now!

Not to be rude or anything. 
But am I the only one here that’s 3yr old (even at 2yrs old) eats at the table cause food is not allowed in my living room or even at daycares. And she eats off her own plate and no one else’s. 
I know toddlers will be toddlers but there’re boundaries that need set. And by all means I am not proper what so ever. We never ate at the table when I was a kid. But we do eat at our table. 
Again not being rude. Just seeing if I am missing something here.
