Bad haircut

How long does a bad haircut take to grow out?

Basically I got it cut and they didn’t cut it short enough (it seemed short at the time but when she took the cape off it ended up being longer) and she said they would have to charge for a second haircut if I wanted it shorter

Sooo my boyfriend and I trimmed it more at home and now it looks choppy and bad and at the back its not an even V

I’m just wondering how long it’ll take before it grows out okay? Or will it even grow out to look better?
