Just used at-home Doppler at 9.2 weeks - unsafe??

I couldnt hear anything because its too early but I did see the machine go from

120 (presumably my heartbeat) to 180 (which was the heart rate of the baby last week).

I just read these can be damaging to the fetus - I only used mine for about 15/20 mins and don’t plan to use it again. Has anyone else had experience with this?

It’s perfectly fine to use they just don’t recommend it because you won’t always find the heartbeat.

They aren't going to hurt the baby however it is way to early for the screen to be accurate and you can spend weeks not finding it.

Won’t hurt to use but I’ve read it’s not suggested to use a home one cause it can cause worry if you can’t find the heart beat or you could even mistake the umbilical cord pulse as the heart beat instead too

I watched a YouTube video that help me find it. Start super low

The doppler is not in anyway harmful to the baby. However I wouldn’t trust the number on the screen until you’re about 20+ weeks. You can find YouTube videos that can help you find the baby this early!
