Tubal during c second affecting breastfeeding?
I’m having a tubal ligation when I deliver this baby, my fourth. However I’m wondering if doing so will effect breastfeeding? Everyone of my kids (3 kids & currently pregnant) has been fed BM for at least the first 6 months, other than my last, he was only for 4 weeks due to his sever allergies. I pumped exclusively with all of them.
That said, I want to physically breast feed this time around. And I’m pretty dead set on it. I didn’t with my others because I had to go back to work quite quickly and was afraid I wouldn’t be able to handle breast feeding and pumping at work. However after some research, I’m thinking it may actually be my better option - not pumping at home unless I need to. & my job now has better amenities for it, instead of a bathroom or locker room. So I’ll feel better about the pumping when I’m having to do it there.
Everything I’ve found says it shouldn’t change anything, other than the anesthesia forcing you to avoid or pump and dump, however it’ll be done while I’m in a c section already, so no additional anesthesia.
Anyone else been in this situation? If so, did it effect your milk coming, your supply, or anything of that sort? I’ll do anything at this point to be able to BF this one, but either way if BFing doesn’t work out, I’ll pump for him/her as long as I’m able to produce.
