Pregnant 2x on IUD
This is a warning for anyone out there that it is Incredibly vital that you do Not get pregnant again, please reconsider the Paraguard copper IUD.

My 2yo was a surprise after taking an emergency contraceptive just the month prior. I was 28, and the sheer fact I hadn't gotten knocked up earlier had me certain I could Not get pregnant.
---I had been with my now husband just over 4 months and the love making was out-of-this-world. On a similar level of: a really pleasant and whimsical sunny summer evening, with the sun setting and the air Just cool enough to have the windows open - watching an incredibly beautiful and inspiring Netflix documentary about a gorgeous European couple traveling through north and south America, which sparks deeply embedded in love and peace, good memories that fill the senses and you feel your body humming, from head to toe... getting carried away

In short, I got pregnant the following month after taking an emergency contraceptive, to be safe as I was not on any BC other than tracking my cycles. Healthy baby three weeks early, just turned two and far from behind for her age. My girl is healthy as a horse (soo blessed🙏) at almost 26 months in this life.
---
I had the paraGard IUD put in by my OB whom confirmed I had healed from a no tear vaginal birth of three weeks early healthy girl.
---
That was late Aug/early Sept 》 I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant days before Feb 14. Within 6 months after IDU insertion, Dr confirmed the IUD hasn't moved and was in the same place as when he inserted it.
---
Took out IUD + pregnancy ends 1st trimester = 2nd ParaGard IUD inserted by another Dr. Other than my OB after performing a D&C, in mid-March.
---
Last day of September, just over 6 months later, confirmed I was 8 weeks pregnant. They took out the ParaGard at the hospital, same day pee strip showed positive. Pregnancy ends 1st trimester.
Turns out the Only two times my husband released in me that year, that I wasnt already pregnant, were the two times we got pregnant On an IUD.
---
Lessons learned: (1.) don't take the risk, if he does release inside > Emergency Contraceptive taken within 72HRS of said intercourse. (2.) Start charting (3.) Have an EC pill easily available.
---
My PCordered a back up EC pill because of our...record.
---
Recently taken EC pill was taken two days prior to predicted fertile window. Expecting my cycle to start in 6 days, or as late as 16 days [longest recorded period between taking EC and starting next menstrual cycle]
---
We are actively trying to NOT conceive. Never in my life did I expect to be in this position.
---
Count your blessings, be kind to one another, we've all been through a few battles, even wars. We are all sisters in this life- all equal - all warriors - all survivors.
---
Ok, I'm seriously going to sleep now.
Sending you light and love as you read this ♡
UPDATE: started my period on time, no real issues just the bloody inconvenience and I seem to be stopping at the predicted time, so all in all, taking a EC two days prior to starting my period did not effect my cycle at all. Just my two cents.
To all the west coasters, we are ALL on fires and there is so much less and fear, my heart goes out to you all - sending love, light, and peace.
Be safe - this too shall pass
