Gestational Diabetes Help
Hi,
I am 29w1d and have just been told I have gestational diabetes (my blood sugars just fall into the abnormal range).
My diet is pretty good and I walk my dog twice a day but I’ve been told I need to eat more than just the three meals a day that I currently eat to maintain my levels.
Before pregnancy this would of involved rice cakes and peanut butter as a snack or fruit (but I’ve been told to be aware of the fruits I’m eating for sugar as well).
My question is can I have peanut butter or not? My midwife advised against it but I’ve read elsewhere it’s fine. I’m in a moral dilemma!
If not has anyone got any good midday snack advice? I’m not a fan or cheeses or eggs or avocados.
Thanks in advance!!
