I gave birth to my daughter two months ago and I just found out the total cost with insurance I owe 9k.

my hospital birth 11 years ago was 6-9k, 9 forget but insurance covered it all.
my homebirth was $2,800 cash
my next home birth was $1,600 cash
not sure how much this homebirth will be yet.

I'll be paying $4500 because I'm using a midwife. But that also counts for prenatal care.
Call the billing department ask for an itemized bill, scour it. Make sure all that is correct because sometimes there's errors. Then ask if you pay all cash or all at once if there's any discounts or anything else that you can attain. It may help drop your bill

Just had to pay the co-pay for hospital visits. So only had to pay $105. Total before insurance was about $33,000.
