Rum cake and other recipes with alcohol?

I just read that alcohol takes a very long time to cook off completely, like hours. What do you guys think about recipes with alcohol in them? We made a rum cake for my husbands birthday and it’s just him and I at home so we’ve both been eating about a piece a day. The cake bakes for 45 minutes and the sauce boils for 1 minute. That is definitely not long enough to cook off completely, but in total each piece has about 1/4 ounce of rum in it. I mean that’s less than a quarter of a shot, and it is cooked. Even if 70% of the alcohol hung around it would still be half a tablespoon of alcohol. Let’s say I ate half the cake, I would have ingested 4 tablespoons of alcohol over the course of a week or 2. What do you guys think? (I’m 24 weeks)
