With everything going on are you getting the Flu shot?

My doctor keep suggesting i get the flu shot but I’m extremely scared to get it during my last pregnancy i received it and caught the flu 2 weeks later I’m still trying to debate on it

So the flu vaccine protects from the strains they think will be common that year. It’s an attenuated “dead” virus. You getting the flu 2 weeks later had nothing to do with getting the shot. If you do get that “strain” you were vaccinated from it will be a less severe form but unfortunately flu viruses are very quickly evolving and it’s always a possibility you can be infected with a different strain. The shot would protect you AND give antibodies to the baby should you breastfeed.

No need to get the vaccine if your whole family is isolated I’ve been isolated my whole pregnancy and no one that I know that’s been isolating themselves has caught any type of sickness since 
I’m really tired of covid so following directions made to protect people doesn’t feel that bad I just wish more people were also doing their part I miss going out on dates and being around family

I took it at week 21 since my doctor said the rate of maternity deaths for flu is really high because pregnant woman has lower defenses.

I knw I was sacred to I just got it yesterday and now that the virus going on I was like ok fine let me get hopefully everything will be ok because I remember my brother got sick after getting so hopefully that’s the case for especially being pregnant now so far I’m ok

Same here. Received my flu shot along with Tdap a couple of weeks ago and I feel fine. No problems. My doctor said the difference between the flu vaccine and COVID is that we have a vaccine for the flu. I asked him if he thought it was a good idea..he reminded me lots of ppl die from the flue each year. I took it and feel fine. To each their own just sharing my experience 🙂
