After birth , do i need pads or diapers the most?

So i know you bleed alittle after birth when u come home.. do u bleed alot though? Or what is stuff that comes out of u after birth? ☹️ this is my 1st pregnancy so idk what to expect or buy after birth?  Just want to know whats better to buy and not waste ur money??

It was like every period I missed in the 9 months of pregnancy came out of me all at once. I only filled pads for the first 24-48 hours after birth, it calmed down after that but I still bled for a few weeks.

I’m actually in the hospital right now postpartum, and I am LOVING the adult diapers I brought. They have saved me so much the last 2 days. My bleeding has slowed down significantly and I’ll be able to just wear a pad home, but the night I had my baby they had me use the mesh underwear and pads, I was gushing blood, all over the floor, the wheel chair, down my legs, all over the bathroom floor and on the toilet. I was so embarrassed and if I had been able to wear one of the diapers I brought I wouldn’t have had that problem. The mesh underwear are the worst, they don’t hold anything in place, and they’re huge. Every time I wear them I leak on whatever I’m sitting or laying on. I would 100% recommend getting the diapers, and bringing pads to possibly go home in.

It’s different for each woman so I would invest in a pack of both. I personally didn’t bleed much more than my normal period after coming home from the hospital so I just used the heavy flow overnight pads. I’m obese so I didn’t even look for diapers that would fit my big butt lol. I only bled for 3 weeks with it being light towards the end.

Huge pads i don't think taking adult diapers off while bleeding amd soaked will be comfortable.

The adult diapers were amazing! I leaked out of pads constantly, with with the diapers I could lie however I wanted in bed, wali around, and not worry

I have had 6 vaginal births and I currently pregnant with baby 7
I only used always brand pads that was overnight pads and good old period/ granny underwear and it worked without an issue!!!

I think everyone is different. I would grab both just in case. With my first I used just pads which was okay but for my second I really wanted diapers for the first week. So I did diapers and put a pad in. The first three days I bled pretty heavily and then by the end of the week it was down to just normal period type bleeding. By 2 weeks I had stopped bleeding altogether. I think it’s better to be over prepared and see what happens.

Buy both because you will bleed 🩸 for at last 3 to 4 weeks I purchase the always adult nappies and the always maxi pad and the always regular nighttime ones for just in case.
