It all depends on the maturity level of the couple. I was engaged and married at 18! Even though we saw ourselves as a strong couple we still did pre marriage counseling, talked to mentors and made sure we we're being smart about our decision. Now we're 20, happily married, and 10wks along with our little blessing! So if you want to, don't be proud or naive, ask for an opinion from mentors or parents, and take want they say in to consideration. 😊

As someone who is 31, I will say the person I was at 18 was dramatically different than the person I was at 22. You are constantly growing and evolving and it's hard to know at 18 if you will grow in line with your significant other. I recommend a marriage class. Cover all the hot topics and know where you stand. One topic my husband and I couldn't meet eye-to-eye on was what to do if we couldn't have kids. We both thought, "well what's the chance of that?". Well we are crossing that bridge now after 2 years trying to conceive. It's been hard and it's a struggle that's not reaching an end any time soon. So I am not saying 18 is too young, I'm just saying make sure you truly know each other and are confident in your ability to adapt to eachother, stay loyal, and push through tough times together.

Here is my take on it. My husband and i dated at 18 engaged and married by 19 and a month into marriage surprise i was pregnant. Baby by 20 years old.

We have been through a whole lot of crap in the 4 years we have been married. Most would have torn us apart but we dedicated ourselves to each other and were determined to work things out.

We did premarital counseling and it didnt help us out. We thought things were going to be great and fine and dandy. I cant stress enough that even if you think you are ready to be married sometimes it isnt enough. Things can change. Life has a way of throwing curve balls at you. YOU need to make sure you are ready to be committed to one person and only one for the rest of your life. This means all their faults. All of their bad habits. Anything that might annoy the hell out of you that they do will be there the rest of your life. Any sicknesses that might arise or disorders developed.

However with that being said it depends on you and your partner on how things end up. As i said before my husband and i committed ourselves to fixing things. This means no matter how mad or upset he made me i cool down and later we talk about how we could have prevented it or avoided it. No matter how mad i make him he works out his anger issues and we move past things.

We have had the roughest marriage but i can proudly say we are the happiest we have ever been and thats the moments you cling to in the dark. 💝

Depends on the person, their life experience and maturity and understanding of marriage. For example, I got engaged at 18 my husband was 20. We got married when I was 19 and now I'm 21 and still so so happy. 
However! My younger sister is now 18 and has been dating a guy for almost 2 years, and he's super nice, but she is not mentally ready for an engagement or marriage. This is her first relationship, she still needs Mommy and Daddy for everything and doesn't understand what being an adult means. 
So just because it's worked out me so far doesn't mean it's what would work for her.

I got engaged at 20 (only 2 years older), and married at 21. We knew we wanted to get married at 18 and 20. But we ended up waiting until 21 and 22. There is not right age to get engaged or married. That time comes differently for everyone! When you are ready and feel it is the right step to take, then go for it. Best of luck to you!

I'm 19 and my fiance is 21 and we have been engaged since last February. We are in no rush at all, especially cause a wedding is/can be expensive. But before we were engaged we had promise rings. We have been together for 2 years.

Engaged is one thing. But don't rush the actual ceremony/marriage. I'd wait til you're at least of drinking age lol (21). Might change your minds down the road. Just saying, divorce is much more complicated.
