Can a Foot massage cause pre term labor?

I’m getting a pedicure tomorrow and this lady I know told me not to let them massage my feet because it will cause contractions and pre term labor. Is this true? I haven’t found any evidence saying it’s true and sounds like an old wives tale to me. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I know there are pressure points around your ankles that can start labor. My sister in law jump started hers by having her husband massage them.

Your fine I’m a massage therapist and yes there are pressure points to try to help start labor but it’s not going to do anything till your body is ready for labor. Even then more than likely still will not do anything. So your fine to get your pedicure and your fine to get your massage. That’s the best luxury when pregnant don’t miss out.

There are a couple pressure points along your ankle and I think on the ball of your foot that are supposed to be avoided while pregnant.  I'd just let them know you are pregnant and they should know what to do. I safely got a couple pedicures with my last pregnancy.

I've gotta a couple pedis since i found out i was pregnant and I've been fine. There is a certain spot they should avoid but i don't really think it will be that big of a deal. If your worried, let them know ahead of time and maybe they won't massage your feet or only do it lightly.
