Kindergarten question
So I am currently living in Europe in Vienna and my 11 month old started kindergarten today. We had a lot of difficulties getting a kindergarten here and we ended up with with a kind of crappy one as seriously every other kindergarten in the city is full. It wasn't my first choice by a long shot but I need to go back to work and it's close by at least.. Anyways, so there are two groups, one for babies 1 - 3 years old and one for older kids. The babies group has one "teacher" for 15 babies and one assistant, I know that's a lot but I guess that's normal for Europe. The teacher is very "german" and not the happiest person to say the least 😅 she sat down with my girl today while I was told to sit on a chair in the corner and she showed her a few toys and then just sat there for 15 mins and didnt say or do much. My little girl just looked around and watched the other kids and then it was time to go, repeat tomorrow. Im just wondering if that's normal, I was expecting the teacher to like interact with her a bit more, maybe try singing or clapping, I donno, anything!!? Then I asked her like, ok, what about bottles, how will that work because she's only 11 months old. She still drinks formula from a bottle which I think is normal. And the teacher is just like oh no we don't have any bottles here, the babies are only offered water or tea in a glass cup during lunch or snack time. Huh!? I thought after 1 year babies switch to cows milk and it should be offered during meals right?! My little one is not a huge eater and if she has to go the whole day without milk, formula or cows I think she will starve or be crazy grumpy!? There's no way she can eat enough during lunch yet.. Is this normal for kindergartens? Should I argue with her on this topic and talk to director? What are other kindergartens like? Im super stressed about it now.. Im so scared of leaving her there 😭😭😭
