birth control not working

i just got birth control a month ago . i’ve been on my period for this long . and it’s been extremely heavy which is why i got it in the first place . it’s just blood clots and blood clots . i will say i was on antibiotics so i figured this would be normal but i’ve been off of them for a week now . and it’s like everyday my period gets worse . i’m thinking about calling the doctor and getting it changed but i want to give this birth control a chance . should i wait a little while longer to call the doctor or should i go ahead and call them ? i was only on antibiotics for a week .

update : i called them today 09/10 and she told me it was normal to bleed irregularly when i first start birth control :( but i’m still bleeding even now . she said she was going to call me back but she never did
