Fertile?

Question

So I'm on the last day of my period, and I just got an alert from this app that my fertile window starts tomorrow? What's up with that… ?Unless I'm completely off-base, doesn't ovulation happen in about 12 to 14 days, and wouldn't that be the time in there that I'm fertile?

Yes ovulation doesn't happen till day 12-14 but sperm can survive in the uterus and fallopian for 5-7 days (science varies in the time period). So if you have unprotected sex 5 days before you ovulate you could still conceive - this is your fertile period. 
If you have a short cycle and ovulate early your fertile period would start pretty soon after your period.
