Egg selling?

Question

Has anyone ever sold their eggs before? If so, what was your experience with it? I really want to do it to help someone out . Are you still able to reproduce after?? I've done some research on the internet, I was just wondering if I could get some personal takes on it . Thanks!!

I've done it 3 times. It's a difficult process you have to give yourself daily injections of hormones that make you feel similar to being pregnant. You have to obstain from sex, alcohol, cigarettes, drugs. Basically all the same as if you were pregnant. The evaluation is the toughest part. They do psych evaluation. They basically dive into your personal life to make sure that you're not going to go crazy and try and lay claim to the baby. But once it's done it's pretty rewarding. The first couple I helped had twins, second couple successfully got pregnant and the third I'm not sure I haven't heard. As far as your ability to get pregnant afterwards it doesn't effect it whatsoever. I'm 30 and did the egg donation 3 times with the most recent time they got 23 eggs. That's a lot! I'm now 12 weeks pregnant with my first child and no complications. The baby was even conceived after taking a Plan B! So I think if you can handle the process than yes do it! Also an upside is the money. Last donation I got $6500.

I've never even thought about it! But I would love to do that after I'm done having my own children. Sounds very rewarding :)

I didn't sell my eggs but I did ivf and the give you the same meds to stimulate the follicles and its a LOT of hard work lots of bloodwork almost daily and sometimes your body can over react to the hormones and you can develop OHSS. I did and I was really down for two weeks recovering. It's a lot to put your body through. Make sure to talk to a fertility doc about it
