Membrane sweep! Why? Why not?

What is your opinion on them? I’ve had a few people tell me why you should or shouldn’t have them done, and I figured this would be a pretty good place to get more info from those who’ve researched and/or had them before.

I had two with my daughter, the first at 41+1 and the second at 41+3. I went into labour at 41+4. Mine didn’t hurt at all, perhaps just a little uncomfortable. 
I opted for the sweeps as a last resort to bring on labour naturally as I was due to be induced at 41+5 which I didn’t particularly want. I don’t personally see the problem with them? They’re quick and don’t use any medicines. I’ll be opting for one again this time if I need to.

If your doctor does it right, the risks are so minimal. They’ll help put you into labor if you’re already heading that way, otherwise it just won’t do anything.

I had two done during my last pregnancy. The first one was done by a resident doctor (still in training) and it didn’t hurt at all. I was surprised because I was told it would be uncomfortable and possibly painful. 
The second time was by my regular doctor, and holy hell I have never been finger banged that hard in my life. She did not hold back, and stuck that finger in as far as it would go. THAT was the discomfort and pain they had warned me about. But I went into labour the next day. 
So I believe that when it is done fully and correctly with zero hesitation it works 😅

I had 2 done with my last pregnancy like a week apart. Neither of them worked on me. But it wasn’t painful at all.

I had one it didn't hurt was just a little bit more uncomfortable than a cervix check. I went into labor the next day started contractions that same night.
