Big baby at 38 weeks?!

Question

Im 38 weeks and my midwife said my baby is around 8lbs 13oz right now :o i had a scan last week. Im kind of scared because all i can think about is how big he'll be in two weeks .. If i make it that far. I have been tested for gestational diabetes and all tests came back normal. Anyone else been in this situation.
Im so scared. First time mum too :/

Don't put too much trust into baby's weight. Ultrasounds and the tape measure thing can be pretty off. I was told at my 38week appointnent with my first pregnancy that my daughter was almost 9pounds. Since I was already dilated 3 1/2-4 cm, my midwife did a membrane sweep and I had my daughter that same night. She weighed a perfect 6pounds and was 19inches long. Definitely a peanut!

I was told my son would be 7 lbs at birth and he was 9lb1oz. I wouldn't totally believe it

Currently in the same situation. Im a FTM and am having my ultrasound done tomorrow at 36+5 to estimate babies final growth and weight. The doctor talked to me about the possibility of  C-section and Induction around 32 weeks so I could research it and get comfortable with the idea since my baby had been measuring big since 16 weeks. They told me that depending of this ultrasound and Pre-eclampsia labs (all of the women in my family got pre-eclampsia when giving birth)  that we would discuss the labor options at 37+. I was scared but at least they gave me a warning. And it is true growth scans can be off, but in my case they have been consistently measuring my baby 2 weeks ahead so I trust them. Best of luck.

At 35 and 5 my kiddo was estimated at 7 lbs 5 ounces, so I'm well on my way to a big baby. I'm just trusting that what's meant to happen will happen.

I'm nervous as well n I'm a third time mom on my 32 week scan my son weigh 4 pounds 14 ounces and he is in the 75 percentile so they r saying a 9 pound baby so I been freaking out since then and I'm 2 days away from being 35 weeks 😢 but I read a lot and people have said they were told the same and baby's came out smaller
