Pump feeding & formula??

Question

I’m due early December and plan to pump feed my princess but also want to give her formula also that way she gets used to the taste of both just in case I don’t get enough milk. Can I do a pump feed then then next do formula??

You can feed your baby whatever you would like, all breast milk, all formula, or a combination of both. My baby has no problem drinking both. Just know that you need to get your supply established in the first few weeks or you won’t make enough milk if you decide to give her breast milk. Every time your baby eats from a bottle, you should pump for 15-20 minutes. That will be 8-12 times per day in the beginning. My routine is to change baby when they wake up, feed her, put her to sleep, and then pump. It takes me about an hour total each time. I then put all the milk I pump in a pitcher in the fridge. Never mix warm and cold milk, I wait until they are the same temperature. The next day, I make all the bottles with the previous day’s milk. Any left over milk I freeze. If I don’t have enough milk, I use formula or defrost a bag or two from the freezer. 
Just know that pumping is a lot of work, but it is worth it to me so my baby can have the benefits from my breast milk. I would suggest being organized, have a system and routine in place, and know that if you decide it’s too much that’s completely fine. Nothing wrong with formula!
