How do you know?

How do you know if you're having a miscarriage or if you were actually ever pregnant to begin with? Bfp on a  hpt and then a period? Or do you half to go to the ER?

If you get a positive test, then a few days/weeks after that start bleeding heavily with cramps that feel like they are ripping you apart inside, that's a miscarriage. Sorry to make it sound like that, but that's what I was feeling when I miscarried at 8 weeks. If you got your period right at the same time you were expecting it, and had gotten a faint positive before, it was most likely a chemical pregnancy, which means the egg was fertilized but didn't implant in the uterus so it got washed away with regular menstrual flow. This happened to me unfortunately. But I hope not to you..
I got a bfp and then about a week later I stated bleeding went to the er and they told you I had mc. But then again there are women who go threw their whole 9 months with an af. Prayers for you hun

I had a bfp on a hpt. Then I went to my obgyn and U was sent for blood work, which was consistent with what your hormones should be doing. Then at the end of that same week I got really bad cramps. I went back to my obgyn and the nurse did a test which said bfn (which she got yelled at for doing). They did an ultrasound and said I was going to miscarry. Which I did.

I mc at 7w5d, started light then heavy. Bled for a week passing clots. Hcg levels via blood did drop by 62% in two days 😔. Did not have cramping though or any pain for that matter, just bleeding. 
Can someone tell me though, what does bfp stand for? Sorry, I'm new to this. Thnx!

I was 6 weeks along I had 7 positive digital tests and then I woke up one morning cramping so hard I was bent over walking and in tears I sat down and wiped and it was dark blood with clots and I bled for over a week like that then it started to get lighter for another week and then it was gone and I took another test after I went to dr and he said if I could pass the tissue in my own and get a negative after all the bleeding stopped I didn't need a DNC luckily it worked that way for me

I had a mc at 7 weeks but didn't have to bad cramps. But I've heard lots of women say it was painful. When in doubt see your doctor. :)

I knew because I started to spot early in pregnancy and then it turned red.my doctor told me not to panic until I had my levels tested. I went in and had blood drawn. He said everything might be ok and to keep a look out for clots. I started to pass clots and had pain. I knew that it was all over then. I got my levels test again 3 days later and it was confirmed that I lost the baby. First you would need a Bfp and then after that if something was not right you would miscarry.

Most people test positive on a hpt and before their doctors appointment they will begin bleeding. Usually that is considered a chemical pregnancy. Some test positive on hpt and blood test and have an ultrasound then start bleeding. Those are considered miscarriage. Chemical pregnancy is usually detected before AF is due and AF either shows on time or is a few days late..
