Skincare - 13 weeks ACNE help?!!

So I completely forgot to ask my midwife at my 12 week appointment about skincare. I always use retinol, but I know you aren’t supposed to use retinol topicals while pregnant. Any skincare suggestions? I have bumps that aren’t really pimples all over my face, and lots of white heads.

Azelaic acid works for some people and is pregnancy safe. You can get it OTC or stronger by prescription. Clindamycin and erythromycin are also pregnancy safe and they are prescription topical antibiotics.

I would have small acne flare ups before pregnancy and use Paula’s Choice (I am 13 weeks and my doctor confirmed it’s safe to use throughout pregnancy). It’s a 3 step system with a face wash, toner and benzoyl peroxide cream - it’s less than 3 % benzoyl peroxide so still perfectly safe. It took a couple weeks to kick in but my skin is much more clear and my pores are the smallest they’ve ever been.
