People can become citizens if they so Desire every day. What about our homeless? What about our veterans? I understand there are refugees trying to find a better quality of life. But there are terrorists/extremists in the mix. They fact they want to give them free homes, free food, free medical care while our Veterans are treated very poorly and more strict background checks occur to work at a grocery store than are being done on the refugees.

I'm all for helping people, but I'm more about protecting my own and taking care of my home before I can take care of someone else and the US has a lot of "home maintenance" that needs tending to before we start taking in such vast numbers of refugees.

Our country is very divided right now. Race, police, religion, sexism. Etc.

I'm not saying we can't help... But what about our own?

Is it bad I wouldn't feel safe if 1000's of the refugees came over. It's just hard to describe. I read something and it said 1500 were coming to WHERE I LIVE!  Many people think they are ALL terrorist, but that isn't true. But do you think they are ALL just refugees? Terrorists are smart, they will find any way to come over here. I just don't think it's a smart idea ONLY because we don't know what there intentions are. In the paper, that talked about the refugees coming to where I live, they said that 90% were men. Maybe I'm wrong for thinking that, but it's my opinion, and it's scary because I'm about to bring an amazing little girl into this world. I don't want anything bad to happen to her!

I'm not trying to be cruel or rude but when the brits said HEY we arent letting you go we said FU.  I am seeing this as being similar these refugees are mostly military age males who don't want to face isis and see the "feebies" of europe and the US as being the perfect opportunity. (Dont believe the freebies issue look up refugees complaining about a lack of Internet and free cell phones) The US can barely tread water right now we are trillions in debt we dont have the money to help our own homeless vets, mentally ill and even children.  (I get to see it 3x a week in the soup kitchen) Yet we have the money to bring in thousands of refugees and give them a "modern home", utilities, food and health care.....it just doesn't make sense.  And while some are refugees elderly, families some are and have been proven to be terrorist.  Not to mention some of the ones they have brought in are already disobeying regulations and leaving or trying to "dip out" and get lost in the population. Or ignoring local laws and law makers chosing to sanctify there own sharia counsels(again youtube sharia law in the UK).  Question is and the one i pose to thousands is how much of a betting person are you enough to bet yours, your SOs, your childrens, your parents lives?  I mean would you take someone in as a roommate without a background check??? Because that is what we are doing here we can't vet these individuals and when you bring in 50 and 2 are bad it only takes 1 to plan something like what happen in france.

I have mixed feelings. I'm not opposed to legal immigration. But it seems as though people aren't acknowledging that this is a time unlike any other, and comparing Syrian refugees to any other immigrant is like comparing apples and oranges. I don't think anyone would say they want innocent families to suffer. But the fact  remains that several refugees have been proven to have ties to ISIS. That isn't discrimination, it's a fact. I heard someone compare it to this: if you were given a huge cluster of grapes, and you were told ten grapes were poisoned, how many would you eat? Probably none. So... Mixed feelings. We need to show compassion, but we also need to protect ourselves during this wartime. I also wonder how many people crying out for refugees to be accepted would keep some in their own home. I have a feeling that's a low number, and that's hypocritical.
