What should I do?

So when I was 16 I made the decision to try the depo shots and it took away my period and I had no periods and I tried it for a year and didn’t like it because I stopped having sex and I felt like I didn’t need it and I was gaining to much weight. While I was on vacation I noticed spotting on my underwear does that mean my period is coming back btw I’m 18 now and I went off the shot when I was 17 completely and another question is does taking the pill help regulate the period? I have a bf and we both don’t want to have sex until we graduate this year which is perfect for me
