PANICKING 😰

Madison • 21 . Mila Rose 🌹 06/09/18 . 1 loss 👼 . Santiago Cruz 07/13/20 💙 Extremely blessed ♥️

I started my birth control pill a little over two weeks ago. I’ve never been on the pill, I’ve only used the depo shot ONCE and then no form of birth control so I’m not very savy or knowledgeable on it.

Anyways, I was talking to my sister about how awesome it is to finally be able to enjoy sex again and she told me as long as I waited for the birth control to kick in... I should be fine.

..... WAITED FOR THE BIRTH CONTROL TO KICK IN 😰😰😰

Yea that definitely didn’t happen , I didn’t even know I had to wait before having sex?!? So we had sex the day after I took my first pill and a few times a week sense then.

Now I’m shitting my pants as I wait for my first period to come. I’m hoping all is okay since I’ve been exclusively breast feeding though 😬

Pray for me ladies 😭🤦🏼‍♀️

(Cute picture of my 2 month old attached just because)

OK so sit down and read the instructions which came with your pills. The good news:Most modern pills actually work after just a few days! The bad news:What do you mean a few times a week?! Babe, if you take the pill you've got to take it (most pills anyway) every day at the same time of day. You can have a few hours of difference but not very many! It's horribly difficult for most moms to take the pill reliably in the first few months because baby usually has an unreliable schedule, greatly affecting mom's schedule.Pick up a pack of condoms. That's what I do anyway, I know I can't remember taking pills reliably so we're doing condoms for now. It's a lot easier to remember putting that on 😅

She said she’s having sex a few times a week, not taking the pill a few times a week.

Yeah it takes about a week or 2 for most oral birth control pills to work. Next time read the packaging before taking the pill so you know what to expect. I’m surprised your OB didn’t mention it though. Mine always did.

My dr said wait two weeks after starting the mini pill. The regular pill you wait or use condoms the first month.

For most women, EBF completely stops your period for quite awhile. After giving birth, you can’t conceive until your first ovulation prior to your first period starting. For most people EBF that’s awhile later. I completely EBF my last two, and my period didn’t return until 7 months pp with the first and 5 1/2 months pp with the second, and even so, breastfeeding messed my hormones up for awhile. Some women start back their period right away after giving birth though, so of course still be careful. :-) If it’s been a couple weeks since the birth control took affect now, you could take a pregnancy test just to ease your fears!

Most birth control is effective after a week but it can take a month before it’s reliably in your system. My fiancée is still pulling out until I’ve been on it 2 months because I’m paranoid haha 😂 we are getting married in a year and I don’t want to do the baby thing until after the wedding

Maybe look into another form of BC that you don’t have to remember? I just got the nexplanon implant and I like it because I don’t have to think about it or worry about being pregnant.

I would google what the manufacturer recommends. I’m taking the mini pill and was told to wait one week before sex. 😅🤞🏼🤞🏼

Yeah they usually say to wait like a month for the birth control to get in your system well. Same with when you get off of it. Wait a month for it to be out of your system... Good luck girl. How long do you gotta wait for your period? Or have you not had one yet since the birth of your little one?

My dr told me to either wait 7 days for it to kick in AND use a backup method for a MONTH!!! Girl

I knew, but I still didn’t take it. My doctor told me to start taking it 4 weeks before I started having sex! Pray for me too.
