Co sleeping to crib

Hi moms, my question is for all you bed sharing parents (please no criticism, helpful experience only) My son just hit 1 year. I don’t let him cry it out, he mostly sleeps with my husband and I in our bed. I need to transition him to his own bed with an earlier bedtime. Does anyone have any experience with this? Right now he’s only soothed back to sleep by the boob and I just get so exhausted it’s easier for me to nurse him while I’m laying down. If anyone has been through something similar or has any advice I would really appreciate it.
