When can a toddler use a baby blanket?

Question

My 14mo son has been fighting bed time sooo much the last month or so.. so I’ve been putting a small baby blanket on him while I brush my teeth and get ready for bed. As soon as I take the blanket off, very carefully I might add, he’s up screaming within a half hour.. when can I start letting him use a baby blanket safely? 
Tired and haven’t had a full nights sleep in two months... thank you teething and regression

Our pediatrician okay'ed a blanket at our daughters 12 month appointment, and I trust her opinion 100%. She is also 14 months and has a blanket every night.

He can have a blanket now. If he can move the blanket, pick up his head & move around then a blanket shouldn’t be a issue.

Most research doesn’t exist after 1 year. However, cribs state nothing can be added to them. I’d personally use a sleep sack. He’s crying because you’re taking something away he fell asleep with. He already does and can continue to learn to sleep without a blanket. Maybe he’s cold and needs the house temperature changed or an additional layer of clothing.

My son is 10 months and has used a breathable baby quilt I bought off amazon since 5 months cause he out grew his sleep sacks, and we have our air conditioner on 24/7.
That is now his favorite blanket and will drag it around anywhere he crawls, and can’t sleep without it. I love it and I actually feel better knowing it was made for babies

If it was me, I'd just leave the blanket on. Still check in though if your worried, and leave it under the arms, so your little one doesn't accidently cover their face.
I always swaddled my two from New Born until they broke their arms out, then id swaddle with arms out. Eventually I'd just tuck them in, I'm guessing around 10-12 months. It's such a blur.
I know my son sucked at sleeping so id still wrap it around him so the opening was on his tummy, I'd end up rocking him to sleep. I can't remember with my daughter, probably did the same thing.

From what I've read, most pediatricians say its okay after 12 months, ideally at 18 months. I am legit going through the exact same thing with my 14 month old, usually I use a sleep sack but have started putting a blanket on her since she also seems to like it and stops her losing it lol usually it just ends up pushed off her by morning 🤷🏼‍♀️

My baby has been using a blanket since 9 months old. He needs it to sleep so much that for several months before then, I’d let him fall asleep with it and then sneak in to remove it. He didn’t sleep more than 2 hours in a row until he got to have his blanket. 14 months is totally safe - my sons pediatrician said it was safe at 10 months

My little guy is almost 15 months and sleeps with a blanket. It’s his comfort item honestly. Sleeps best with it.

We started using blankets when she freaked out about not being able to kick off or adjust the sleep sacks. I think she was 9 months? It would wake her up and keep her up so we just switched because she liked being able to grab the edge and pull her arms in
