Spider anxiety

Last night a spider was hanging from our skylight but it was too dark to see what it was. Instead of shining a flashlight on it my husband got a lighter and lit it but it disappeared after that. I’m scared bc I’ve seen a male black widow and also brown recluse in my apartment. Those don’t usually hang from webs right?? Like long webs?
