Endo?

Question

Hi, does anyone have a gynecologist they recommend in the Chicagoland area? Possibly specializing in endometriosis? Just saw my doctor today regarding these “episodes” I’ve been having during my period (extremely painful to the point of almost passing out, sweating, vision loss, arm muscle tingling/numbness/tightening up to the point where I can’t straighten my wrists, vomiting/diarrhea and a whole other bunch of symptoms outside of my period time). Apparently she thinks this is “normal cramping” pain related to periods and I’m not taking enough pain medication for the symptoms 🙄 Extremely dismissive and condescending during my visit. Anyone else experience this issue? I’ve been struggling with irregular periods for over a year now since coming off birth control so I never even know when it’s gonna hit me. I mentioned endometriosis but she says since these episodes only last 15 minutes that it’s not long enough compared to others who suffer their whole period length in pain. Hoping to find another doctor who can at least listen to me and give a bit better advice as what to do moving forward. Anyone have suggestions or a similar experience?

There are many differing symptoms of endo, and lots of doctors and others are dismissive of the pain some women face. I’m still looking for the right doctor myself, also I. The Chicago area. But there are clinical studies here you can partake in, and if your in Instagram there is a whole community for support. Here is a link to a woman that has so many great resources pinned. I think you need a better doctor but it doesn’t sound like endo
