looking for answers and (helpful) advice

okay so i’ve posted here before, but received harsh words rather than advice. so, here i am again. my husband and i had sex on 9/1, i take my birth control not consistently at all and i know that is dumb. however, he did not finish inside me. my period was scheduled to be here 9/14 and i am not sure when i was ovulating. i began taking my birth control consistently 9/2 and my period has not come. i have taken a test every single day since saturday. they have all been negative. so, my question is wouldn’t i be seeing a positive by now if i were pregnant? do we think my birth control delayed my period considering i started taking it mid cycle?
