Yes, you can have kids at 39. My mom had her last two at 41 and 45, so it can definitely happen. But, the chances are definitely decreasing, so you should start trying asap. I would recommend you read the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It has great info on timing sex for the best chances of success. If you want to and have the money, you could also look into IVF, which doesn’t depend as much on your age. My mom had a friend who I think was in her early 50’s and got pregnant twice with IVF.
