Do I need to obtain my past prenatal records for my future pregnancy?

My daughter is one years old and i am curious if I need to obtain my prenatal records for my future pregnancy?

Clicked yes but I meant no. They asked about the pregnancy but never for records of it. It depends on if you had complications, I’m sure.

If you are using the same OB it shouldn't be a problem.  I had to get mine from my previous OB because we moved out of state and they wanted the records.

It's never a bad thing to keep your medical records on hand pregnancy related or not. And everyone should know you are 100% in your rights to request them! That said I've given birth in multiple states obviously with multiple ob/midwives and a verbal history is just fine. The only time seeing a previous pregnancy/birth record is requested is when there is a complication or csection the new ob/midwife wants to be be 100% clear what happened.

I didn’t but they asked me about my previous delivery. I knew the details of all my complications so they didn’t need more information. If you had a c-section they might need your op report to determine if you’re eligible for a VBAC.

It’s not mandatory but many doctors/hospitals will request it (if you’re going somewhere different) as it does help with planning for your care with this pregnancy, particularly if you had any complications.
