What worked well when toilet training your kid?

I used a seat that fit into the top of a reg toilet. Worked great for us!

My thinking is-using a toddler toilet is extra steps. What are you gonna do when you're out and about? Carry an entire toddler toilet with you because theyre too afraid to use a regular toilet? Transition from diapers to a regular toilet. One step.

We actually used 3 different things, a small plastic toddler potty that we kept in her room, an insert for the big potty & a foldable travel insert for when we were out & about, she had no issues transitioning between all of them & has also been fine sitting on a normal toilet w/ no insert as long as I hold onto her so she doesn’t fall in. (I only paid money for the travel insert, the others were hand-me-downs)

We had both the little kid one (not realistic) and the seat cover. She used both on and off, not the little kid one was useful because we could keep it right where we were playing.

Despite using cloth, I find it gross to have to clean out a kiddy toilet seat tbh
I just got the seat that fits on top our regular toilet, and got a step stool. That way there wasn't a transition them to the big boy/girl seat

For my oldest I bought those cute cartoon ones, had a cute monster on it and a book on the side that sang.... she was terrified of it. Lol a monster’s a monster. Took her to the store and had her pick out the toilet she wanted and within a week had potty training down like a pro with her new Paw Patrol toilet. This time around I’ll just get a plain one. Maybe one that looks like our toilet. Lol save the drama.

I did not want to use a plastic toddler toilet, so we started with just a seat on the big potty and luckily my kids took to it. All kids are different! It helped to include them in my own potty time as well (as if I could go to the bathroom by myself anyway).

Last time I potty trained a kid I only used the seat that fits on the toilet. I think I’m going to get a little potty and a seat for the toilet this time because my son is a stubborn little thing.

The toddler potty that sat on the ground then we moved to a seat on the regular potty! It worked great for my girls especially since potty training was hard & being able to move the toddler potty where ever needed helped!
