Debit card for kids?

Does anyone know where I can get a debit card for kids? My daughter is getting an allowance for her chores and we would rather give her a card that we can transfer the money to instead of cash. She will be 10 in November.

I don’t know that that exists. Also, I think when a child is first learning to manage money, being able to physically handle the bills is what really aids in that skill.

I understand the value of a card. Honestly, I think my account money is “real” and my cash is play money..... so yikes. But I think handling cash for kids is something important.  But also, “changing times” and less cash in general so 🤷‍♀️

I got one called Greenlight for my 9 year old daughter. Definitely recommend!

We use Current. You can set up an allowance. You both have an app and you can control how much she can spend and where she can spend her money. It is $40 a year.

My kids’ savings accounts came with debit cards. I opened them with PNC.
Cash is easier for learning but right now with covid a lot of places prefer cards.

I used capital one for my baby sister. But now chase also has an account for kids might want to take a look.

Maybe give her a Visa card? You can upload a certain amount of money on it and add more on there at any time.
