Confusing periods

Would you count 21 days worth as spotting as a period? Even if most days it was minimal and some days quite heavy.

I’m on regular birth control tablets and have been waiting for my doctors to book me in for a ultrasound but that was months ago.

In the past I have gone months without a period but recently have been quite regular. This is the longest I’ve ever been bleeding for.
