What's worse? Labor or kidney stones?

We all know how women talk about labor being the worst pain on earth. My father-in-law had kidney stones and said passing them is the worst and beats labor. I asked how he would know since he has never had a child. He said our bodies were designed to handle labor and the passageways dilate to accommodate the baby whereas kidney stones are not meant to be passed and the body does not expand for them. So I thought, who better to ask than women who have given birth and had kidney stones? They would know!

I don't know, but I have had 4 kidney stones and they were all EXCRUCIATING, but even worse than that was pelvic inflammatory disease. If kidney stones are worse than labor, then I've got this no problem. Lol.

This is so funny because I had an almost identical conversation with my father-in-law but about a toothache. His molar was hurting and he said it hurt worse than labor. I was like and you would know how???? And he gave me the same answer your FIL gave you lol I just laughed. I have passed kidney stones and I admit it is the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I will be giving birth in March so I guess I'll know for sure then. As far as a toothache, I worked at a dentist office and I saw grown men in tears quite a few times but I've never had one that severe to compare myself.

I went through an extremely painful, long labor and ended up getting an epi before transition. That at the time was the worst pain I had ever felt UNTIL I got a kidney stone!! (while pregnant!) I will never ever say that it doesn't compare. I feel like I could have a natural birth having experienced the stone trying to pass for 4 days. I was rolling around, sobbing on our floor at home. It was terrible, absolutely terrible!

Before I gave birth to my first I told myself if labor is worse then a migraine I would get an epidural I had plenty of migraines throughout my pregnancy that I wouldn't take meds for I was determined to prep my body for pain needless to say I didn't get an epidural it's all in your pain tolerance and how you handle it women were made to give birth Id tell him labor is worse men have a low pain tolerance in my opinion

Labor(contractions) was BY FAR the worst pain I EVER felt in my entire life.
It was very traumatic to the point where I am actually reconsidering having any other children.. Never experience kidney stones though

I didn't have kidney stones but i almost died from appendicitis and that pain was far worse than my no epidural induction. I was literally begging the nurses to kill me or my dad to smother me. Lol

I'll be able to tell you in January,  I'm very prone to kidney stones and have had at least 7 in the last two years. I've gotten so good at dealing with them I have even gone to work while having them. So I'm hoping kidney stones are worse bc then labor will be a breeze!
