Negative Test/HcG Progression

So if a woman tests 5 days before her missed period or even the day before her missed period and they are negative, can she test 2 days after missed AF and get a positive??

I’m worried I won’t see that BFP this cycle so I’m clinging to every last hope! 🤞🏼🤞🏼
