So I started gonal f and menopur on Wednesday the 9th, then 5 days later added cetrotide. after upping the doses of gonal and meno, my doctor recommended not going through with the retrival after 9 days of injections cause he thought I was much more capable of producing more eggs and he didn't want to waste my money and not be able to retrieve as many as possible. (Even though we dropped 5k on meds ugh.)
I appreciated him giving me his honest opinion and after much discussion with my husband we went ahead and stopped. I did have a large amount of eggs but they weren't developing. (My husband has a very low sperm count which is why we need to assistance).
So my doctor is speculating that the birth control he gave me before hand may have had something to do with my eggs not developing.
Has anyone had this similar issue?
Were going to try again without birth control for the next round. I am so scared of getting that same call again. IVF was of course our hail Mary, and I'm so scared this will happen again. I'm just devastated.
Second thing (and I feel like a huge idiot) we had sex 48 hours after I stopped injections (and for thr next 3 nights) I just wassnt even thinking about my own natural ovulation and the fact that I may drop more than one egg. Yikes. I cant find any info about how log after cancelled ivf that you generally start to ovulate as I'm sure the answer is "it depends"
Okay long post, just hoping therea other women put there who can relate to any of this!
Thanks and baby dust to all 💕💕💕
