Labor false or real?!

Question

At what point did you guys go to the hospital and it was real labor??! Lol. I’m having regular “tightening” in my stomach but it’s not super painful.. 
any suggestions?? I’m 38 weeks with my 3rd baby and lost my mucus plug last week. 
I never dilated on my own or lost a mucus plug with my first 2, I was induced.

I have been having prodromal labor for a week now. Basically, it follows a pattern, has painful contractions, and goes on for hours, but doesn’t really progress in intensity. My contractions have stayed painful, but not to the point of REALLY painful. This is my second, and they feel like early labor, but then never get worse and fizzle out after a couple of hours. I would say if they start to get seriously painful and are closer than 3 minutes apart, go in. That’s what my midwife recommended. Mine have been about 3 minutes apart but again painful but not enough to make me know I’m really getting there lol. Beast of luck!

Tightening can be Braxton Hicks. If you drink water, move around, shower etc, do they go away? Can you still talk through it? Can you time them?

If you suspect your water has broken you go in. If your contractions are long enough and close enough together is another reason to go in. If you're bleeding, go in. Otherwise wait it out until the contractions are regular! With my first I was laying in silence and heard a tiny pop noise like when you click your tongue but quieter lol I had read water breaking can sound like that. So I got up and went to the toilet but couldn't tell. Then the contractions started. They were mild but consistent and we had a 40 min drive to the hospital so we decided to go to town. Contractions intensified quickly and I knew for sure it was labor. They tested me at the hospital and even though I wasn't leaking like crazy, my water had broken.

I went in this morning because I was up since 2 Am with painful contractions about 5-7 min apart. They hooked me up to the monitor and saw contractions but not enough to admit me. Also, I am only 1cm dilated and my cervix is thick and posterior 😩😩😩

I was told to inform my midwife when contractions were regular but to not go in until they interrupt anything I am doing. Like basically not able to function. But I also only live 10 min from my birthing center.

Whenever I wonder about this, I just tell myself I’m not going to actually do anything about it unless it gets painful and lasts. Then I’ll call or go in.
