What does baby wear in hospital?

I notice all the bag packing lists say 2 going home outfits in different sizes. Does the hospital provide clothes while we’re there?

My son was swaddled his whole visit and not in clothes. Not sure about this time what I will do

They usually have 1-2 kimono shirts at the hospital to put on baby 
They usually look washed/worn and this time I checked and it was 60% cotton 40% ployester- not the fabric I'd want on my newborn 
They're usually naked and wrapped in the kitchen towel-like blankets you see everywhere 
I always bring my own everything

My hospital provides a few shirts and hats and then you just keep them swaddled. 
You can dress them yourself if you like, but honestly, I think it would be a hassle if you go farther than socks and mittens. They need to be able to quickly access the id bracelet every single nurse change and any time baby has a procedure or test. 
I’m just taking a picture outfit and a few going home outfits. 
First son peed all over his when dad took the stuff to the car. Had to Walk all the way back to the car, get a new outfit, then all the way back to us to change, then leave again. 🙃

I swaddled my son the whole time we were there. Maybe a onesie when we had visitors? Had little hand mittens to avoid scratches and little socks. Honestly, I didn’t even get out of my Johnny or shower for two entire days bc I was so sick and sore. This time I promised myself to shower and get normalish clothes on ASAP.

In Canada, you aren’t provided clothing. I pack sleepers for while we are there and sometimes a going home outfit but this time may just do a sleeper. 
I pack some onesies for layering under the sleepers if heat is an issue.

I only have going home outfits packed for clothes (footie sleepers and under-onesies in 2 different sizes)... I was under the impression she’d be just in a diaper and swaddled majority of the time because you do so much skin to skin in the first 24h. If for some reason we need more clothes I’ll just get my husband or someone to bring some in 🤷🏻‍♀️

Depends on the hospital. I believe they all provide the white onesie. However my hospital requires baby to stay in their gowns until pictures and discharge. They say for security reasons. (They wear the security band sp idk why they use the gowns too)

With my son they had a drawer in the bassinet that had clothes. They were starched today high heavens and not a single thing fit him. It was all like 0-3 and 3 month. No newborn and he was premie sized so newborn wouldn’t have fit even if they had some available. I brought all footie sleepers for him to wear while at the hospital

When I had my daughter we used gowns that were open at the bottom and had hand coverings. This time for my son I have the same and the half shirts that have hand coverings. 
I think they do provide something, just can’t remember what!
