Nursing in public
Sorry for the long post!
My boy is 9 weeks now and we had a long journey with breastfeeding. When I was 6 weeks postpartum I had emergency surgery due to my appendix. It took me 2 weeks to heal properly because of where the incisions were, and it hurt to nurse him on me. I did pump but I wasn’t getting more than an ounce (from both breasts) probably because of the stress I was under, and he was eating about 2 1/2 oz. So I started supplementing with formula, which for some people it helps, in my case it did not. My baby is not having stools for 5 days at a time and he’s very gassy. I’ve been working very very hard at nursing him on me now and he’s finally satisfied and he’s gaining weight! The dr said I don’t have to supplement anymore.
Problem is, when I pump I’m still not getting enough from each breast, and I feel after pumping it takes away his supply, and he HATES to be covered up. So when I’m in public It’s a struggle to feed him. I would feed openly but I’m not confident with myself yet. He feeds every 1 hour- 2 hours for 5-10 minute sessions

I’ve practiced at home with nursing covers and blankets, and I even have nursing shirts but he constantly spits my nipples out and that’s what I’m nervous about.
Any other suggestions to make feeding in public easier? And is it bad if I quit pumping all together?
