My bf don’t give me the attention I deserve and it makes me clingy, but I really don’t want to call things off.

Is there a way I can get it in his head that if he doesn’t start doing shit for me I’m going to break up with him? I won’t threaten with breaking up because I feel like that’s toxic, but I can’t straight up ASK him to pay more attention to me because that hasn’t been working.

Should I start ignoring him? In other words, not prioritizing him as much as I do? Or is that toxic.
