I'm working on getting my first book published. I am terrible with research and picking the best option from a list (but I have really been trying for a while now). I know some companies are a scam and others are so big they don't accept random query letters. So for those of you that have any experience with publishing a book (not self published) who or what companies are good and worth working with?

My book could fit into many categories such as teen/young adult, mystery, suspense, and/or fantasy fiction. I'm also in Florida if that helps at all. Thanks!
