Copper IUD and pregnancy

Hello ladies , does anyone on here have a copper IUD? I heard many women complain that they got pregnant with it and my period is over a month and a half late and now I'm getting paranoid. Has anyone else experienced this? I know it's supposed to keep your cycles "regular". I could be paranoid but I've heard horror stories from other women having to get it surgically removed due to ectopic pregnancies.
