My ex and I

My ex and I have been talking and he was actually trying to figure out himself and change his attitude to suit the relationship. But we're both on different islands and have goals we'd like to achieve and still want to get his degree. Emotionally we are there but it may be years we'd get to be with each other and may only see each other a couple days in the year. Your thoughts?
