What to expect with scheduled csection

This is my second baby and I am going to do a scheduled c section. My first was a very rough labor and after 4 hours of pushing and my first getting stuck, we had to have an emergency csection to get him out. That, plus hemorrhaging made for an extremely rough recovery. 
So, again I have made the decision to schedule a csection with this baby but I am curious what to expect. Anyone willing to share their experience about the surgery and post recovery?

I had 2 scheduled c-sections both very positive surgery and pp
Our doctor had us go in 2 hours early to do any paperwork we haven’t done, get in our rooms, get the IV put in, had to take some nasty bitter tasting medicine etc.
Then we go to the OR and my husband has to wait outside the door until my spinal block was placed. 
My first one I had a female nurse that I leaned on and she told me when to expect everything. I got the numbing shot didn’t really feel it then the spinal and I felt it but it kinda just felt like I got pinched hard. I didn’t even have time to process the pain bc my body went numb so fast and I was needing to lie back on the bed. 
With my second I had a male nurse who told me encouraging things the whole time and reminded me to breathe. when they placed the spinal I felt a whole lot of pressure like someone was just pushing down on my lower back towards my hips. Slight pinch (not as bad as the first one) and then lie down. 
They then shaved any part that needed it, put in the catheter, waited for the doctor to come in, brought my husband in and got to work. The second experience it seemed to take forever before my husband was let back. 
My first experience I was shaking like crazy, I was freezing cold, really wanted to close my eyes (that freaked my husband out 😆) and I got really nauseous that I actually threw up (I think my stomach was upset from the medicine and just nerves) I told the anesthesiologist ahead of time and he had me tilt my head to one side, placed a bag there, and used a suction thing like they do at the dentist to suck the majority of it out of my mouth while I was throwing up. I only threw up once and continued to be shaky the whole time. My daughter came out and every one was talking about her and talking to me then when I was stitched up they sent my husband to my room, switched me to the bed, gave me my baby and wheeled me to my room. 
My second, I never threw up, I never really got shaky until like the last 5 minutes of the procedure, and it felt like it lasted a bit longer than my first c-section did. Overall my 2nd experience was better but in the moment with my first I had no complaints. I was like it’s part of it and I think overall it went great! 
Postpartum I was blessed enough to have a bit of help. I never pushed past the weight restriction and any days I did push myself like bending over to far or something I was sore the next day.

I had the same situation with my first. Pushed for 4 hours and she was stuck. But I didn't have the hemorrhaging. I planned on a second c-section and originally had it planned at 39 weeks, but my water broke out of the blue pre-labor at 33 weeks 6 days. Then I went into labor naturally and went to the hospital. So I ended up getting the c-section while in labor instead of before labor as planned. But it did go way better than the first time. I was already able to do stairs just a week after the c-section. It could have just been because I was moving a lot more since my daughter was in the nicu for 2 weeks, so my mama hormones pushed me through to see her every day. It all probably helped make it a quicker recovery. I had 0 complications during pregnancy and no reason for my water breaking early. I also had 0 complications during the c-section either. I hope this helps!

From what I hear it will be much smoother. My first was c-section (planned due to breech), and it went really well.
We had a time to come in, was told not to eat (hardest part honestly), the day of I woke up showered, put on makeup, and was happy and anxious. Got in, did some paperwork, got in a gown, was monitored until they were ready, hooked up to what they needed to hook me up with, brought into hall outside of the room about an hour later (right on schedule). They took me in to get a spinal- was super easy, and the woman doing that was kind of my “coach” and watched over me and made sure everything was smooth (the whole time until I left the room). When I wasn’t feeling anything after laying down they brought my spouse in, screen up, put in a catheter, tested to see if I could feel (I believe they poked me with a needle not sure), and when I said I was good to go it began. Didn’t feel anything other than pressure and was warned any time the doctor would be moving me in a way that I would feel. I was a bit shaky at one point and the woman who was helping  checks me and gets me to breath, and other than that it was smooth sailing, baby came out, they cleaned her up, let me kiss her and see her, and then she and spouse left the room while they put me back together (kind of lonely, but I just tried to rest and relax). After that taken to the room with my spouse, had an hour with a doctor who checked all my vitals and made sure we were okay, then taken to my room and everything after that I assume is the same as any other c-section.
